Roblimo.com Email Terms of Service

This has been up here for many years. It should now be treated as a joke. If you want to contact me these days, robin AT roblimo DOT com is a lot better than posting a comment on this page.

(Does not apply to individually-addressed “real” email)

Much though I love receiving unsolicited bulk email, I am now so overwhelmed by the number of people who want me to look at their bulk (”spam”) email offerings that I am forced to charge $50 for each unsolicited bulk email I receive, charged on your behalf to your ISP if you do not pay within 30 days or, in the case of non-U.S. companies or individuals, to your country’s US embassy.

I also charge $50 for testing your “unsubscribe” utility, which is a great bargain since so few of them work, and I know you want yours to operate properly.
Please don’t claim I “opted in” or “subscribed” to your bulk email. I didn’t, and don’t try to claim I did, because we both know you’re lying.

“Someone else must have subscribed you” is not valid, either. If you choose not to use a double opt-in (subscription confirmation) system, you are being rude to people who get your email without asking for it, and you should be grateful that I am charging you a little money in return for pointing out the problem so you can correct it instead of letting you keep on being stupid until you get black-holed or your ISP cuts off your service.

And if you sell/sold any of my personal information, including my email address, as part of any kind of sales or contact database without my express, written personal permission in advance, you must pay $5 royalty per copy sold, minimum $500. It’s my name and information, pal, not yours. Capice?

All charges are “plus $80 per hour trackdown and collection fees,” and do not include court costs, so when you get my bill please pay it promptly. If you cannot abide by these Terms of Service, do not send me unsolicited bulk email. If you choose to send me unsolicited bulk email, you accept these terms automatically.

Remember, you are the one who initiated the transaction, not me. I did not ask you to send me unsolicited bulk email. (If I did, it wouldn’t be unsolicited.)

  4. As the North American Rep for Messe Berlin, I have been asked to gather opinions on this exhibiton/conference in Berlin.

A friend of mine (Linux-Geek) recommended to go to Linux.com and find somebody to ask there and that’s how I found you.

To gather information I would need to ask just a few short questions.

    1. Have you heard about this show/conference?

    http://www.linuxtag.org/2007/en/home/welcome.html

    2. If so, what is you impression of it?

    3. Is it covered in the North American trade press and if so, where could I find some info on that?

    4. Do you see a market for this within the North American continent for both exhibitors and trade visitors?

Thank you very much for your help and time.

  5. I was doing a Google search for cheap places for artists to live, and your May 2007 article turned up. You do a great job of painting the pluses and minuses of the artists’ village in Bradenton. I live in Tallahassee, which is totally nowhere in terms of just about everything, and they’re suddenly beginning to talk about affordable housing and studio space for local artists. I’m going to attend the meeting–June 26, 2007–but knowing how life works in Tallahassee, it might be years before anything ever happens.

FWIW, I came down with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome in 2001 and had to cease running my editorial-services business as a result. Of course, my marriage fell apart, I’m on Social Security Disability, etc. The only good things about getting fibro and CFS are that I learned who my friends were and weren’t, I learned that my husband’s idea of “in sickness and in health” didn’t apply to my illness, I’ve had to become less of a Type A, and I have much more time to work on my fiber art.

If you have any information about places (they can be anywhere in the US; I’m more than willing to move) where artists can live inexpensively and in a community with other artists, please drop me a note. I’d greatly appreciate it.

  8. Your website just looks rude and not like a peace website. I was going to invite you and your collegues to become volunteers for the United Nations. Why don’t you lighten up a little?

Plus, I do not get the configuer wireless connection selection for auto-config script, while using the CD. If I go ahead and install the software can I fix the problem?
