Saturday Afternoon, Village of the Arts

One of the best ways to spend Saturday afternoon in Bradenton, Florida, is wandering the Village of the Arts. You’ll find unique art galleries and studios, cafes, a couple of bookstores, and more often than not a little street music by local performers. First Friday night (of the month) Artwalks are also great fun. See you there!

Very tropical feel to this one, mixed up with the old “hippie” culture.

Great musical performance!! I think the video could do greater justice to what it is you are trying to create.
I am planning on moving to your area within the next 3-4 months and am looking for a preferably older , historic area where the arts are flourishing. Could you give me any suggestions as to where to look? I dont mind an area that is being returned to it’s former glory, but I do need safety. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you ,
    Jen

The village of the arts is an older neighborhood that’s being revitalized by amazing artists, local residents, and city officals. The architecture of the houses in the village of the arts community has an old florida feel to them, two and three story homes with large lots. There are also small homes for studious and singles. I am a local resident of the village of the arts, who has lived in the community practical all my life. I love being in an area, where culture is everywhere, people come from all over to shop the village galleries and take in local bands and events. Ths City of Bradenton has helped host and organize local events like “Martini and movie night under the stars”, Gecokofest 2006, and garden walks. I’m told i’m very verbose in my writing, and I could go on and on but I’ll end this post with this thought. I’m very happy living in a community where people know each other, wave to one another, and help one another. Art is alive and flourishing in the, “Village Of The Arts.” Bobby

I am the newest member of the Village of the Arts. My Gallery, Lee Shore Gallery, has been open since April 2007. I love being a part of the Village of the Arts. We are buying an old 3 story home in the heart of the Village, a very safe community, and renovating it. I have the living and dining rooms set up for my Gallery. I design one-of-a-kind fused glass and lampwork beaded jewelry, and hand painted silk scarves, and I feature other local artists in my Gallery. I am open every Friday and Saturday from 11am - 4pm and all Village of the Arts Events, including the First Weekend of the Month Art Walks. I would recommend the Village of the Arts highly to anyone looking for a wonderful community of Artists. We have really been made welcome here and we love it. It is a neat community, a family, and that family welcomes new members with open arms. We will eventually be living upstairs above the Gallery when we finish our remodeling. http://www.leeshoregallery.com. Check out my website, come by the Gallery. Christina Lee
