Florida peace activists try to tell Rep. Vern Buchanan how much the Iraq war costs
People from a whole bunch of Florida peace groups tried to give Congressman Vern Buchanan some data from Moveon.org showing the cost of Bush's Iraq shoot-em-up, were happy to suggest better uses for the money.
Unfortunately, senior Buchanan staffers refused to listen, and the Congressman himself was someplace that couldn't be revealed due to (shhhh!) security concerns.
Ah, well. It was a worthy try by some concerned citizens to change a Republican's mind. Maybe it'll even succeed if repeated often enough.
One can hope.

Your mention of Move ON. Org takes away from your whole argument. George Soro’s and Move ON has very little credibility with people who aren’t sheep and think for themselves.

My mind sure wouldn’t be changed. Spending that money on war is perfectly legal and constitutional, but spending it — via the federal government, anyway — on K-12 education and health insurance for all Americans is quite illegal and unconstitutional.
But that’s OK: these people also want to ignore the legal outcome of the vote and give the election to Chris Jennings, the guy who lost. Forget the right of the people to vote! The person who wins is the one *I* think should win!!!
Maybe these days, “MoveOn” stands for “Move On Past The Constitution.”

Those who oppose the war should be ashamed to associate themselves with Move On.Org. An organization which accuses Gen. Petraeus of betraying America is despicable. The General may not be saying what Move On.org wishes he would say, but he was sent to Iraq to do a job. The mission to bring reconciliation to Iraq may succeed or fail, but it will not fail for want of brave women and men like Gen. Petraeus. The man deserves our thanks, not our insults.
