About 70 residents and friends of Bradenton’s historic Wares Creek neighborhood got together Saturday, October 4, 2008, to clean trash from Wares Creek and adjacent wooded areas. They found some horribly yucky stuff. Estimates of how much they pick up ranged from half a ton to over a ton. And there was still plenty left for the next cleanup, so if you’re thinking about volunteering, please do so. There are two or three cleanup events like this every year.
